A carpet that smells is holding on to something: pet accidents, spilled milk, smoke, or moisture. Deodorizing only works when that something comes out first.
Source first
Spraying fragrance over a smell lasts until the next humid day. We find the source, extract it with hot water, then treat what is left with a deodorizer that neutralizes the odor instead of masking it.
Sanitizing
A sanitizing treatment after cleaning reduces the bacteria living in the carpet. People ask for it most in homes with crawling babies, pets, or someone who has been sick.
Musty smells
A musty smell in a basement usually means moisture: a slow leak, a damp slab, or old water damage that never fully dried. Deodorizing will not fix that. The moisture needs fixing first, and if the pad is damp, we can replace it. See water extraction.
Smoke
Smoke odor sits in the carpet, and also in the walls, ceilings, and vents. We clean and deodorize the carpet; the rest of the room needs doing too for the smell to go for good.
